The Professional Training College (Vocational School) Student Scholarships offer high school graduates the opportunity to receive professional training in Japan in a variety of vocations.

QUALIFICATIONS: (for 2010 Scholarship)
- AGE: Applicants must have been born between April 2, 1988 and April 1, 1993.
- ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:Applicants must have completed 12-year-school education or finished high school education.
- LANGUAGE: Applicants must learn the Japanese Language and receive Vocational school education in the Japanese language.

April, 2010SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:
- ALLOWANCE: Under the fiscal 2009 budget, each grantee will be provided monthly with 125,000 yen.(subject to change, however, depending upon the annual budget of each year.)
- Term: Three years.
- TRANSPORTATION: Grantees will be supplied with an economy-class air ticket to and from Japan.
- SCHOOL FEES: Entrance examination, matriculation and tuition fees at universities will be exempted.
- ACCOMMODATIONS: Grantees shall reside either at one of the Foreign Students Houses operated by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) or at a dormitory arranged by the Japanese language school at which the grantees are enrolled.
- MEDICAL TREATMENT: Students may receive subvention for part of the medical expenses in Japan.

- The specific award amounts of each scholarship listed above are current as of April 2009. These details are subject to change.
- Although applicants may request a specific host institution in any of the above scholarships, official host institution assignments are made by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science & Technology. The Ministry's decision in this regard will be considered final.
