Consul-General Matsumoto visited Governor Lee on March 9th

On March 9, 2022, Consul-General Matsumoto met with Tennessee Governor Bill Lee at the state capitol building. Governor Lee expressed gratitude for the Japanese investment in the state with about 200 companies employing over 55,000 people. The Governor had a chance to visit Tokyo before the pandemic and looks forward to visiting Japan again as governor. Consul-General expressed appreciation to the Governor for the support that Japanese companies receive from the Tennessee government and the local people. Also, Consul-General emphasized the many cultural connections between Japan and Tennessee such as the many sister-city relationships and events like the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival on April 9, 2022.
