Although heavy rain prevented guests from viewing the moon during the Fourth Annual Moon Viewing Celebration at Cheekwood, they were still able to have a great time learning more about Japan. Kids and adults enjoyed writing haiku poetry, decorating their own uchiwa fans, making origami, and getting their names written in Japanese calligraphy. Tea ceremony demonstrations showed guests the beautiful precision of a Japanese tradition, while Kamishibai storytelling shared Japanese folk tales using a unique stage and sound effects. Thank you to Cheekwood for co-hosting this event, and to all the guests who braved the weather to attend!
