【杵渕総領事とベシア知事】		【杵渕総領事とヘイズ長官】

　７月６日（月）、杵渕総領事はスティーブ・ベシア・ケンタッキー州知事及びラリー・ヘイズ・同州経済開発長官を表敬し、着任の挨拶を行いました。また、州知事公邸において知事主催の当地日本企業関係者１３０人を招いた総領事着任及び日本企業謝恩レセプションに出席しました。
杵渕総領事は、ケンタッキー州政府のこれまでの支援に敬意を表するとともに、日・ケンタッキーの良好な関係を更に発展させるよう緊密に協力していきたい旨述べました。
　ベシア知事からは、多くの日本企業はリセッション時にもケンタッキー州にて操業を続け、州経済を支えて頂いた。現在のケンタッキー州経済は日本企業によるところが大きく大変感謝している。新総領事をお迎えし、日・ケンタッキー関係発展のために益々努力したい旨述べました。

Consul-General Kinefuchi traveled to Frankfort, Kentucky to meet with Gov. Steve Beshear and Secretary Larry Hayes of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.  Mr. Kinefuchi also joined 130 Japanese company representatives at a Japan Appreciation Reception, hosted by Gov. and Mrs. Beshear at the Governor’s Mansion.  In his remarks, Consul-General Kinefuchi expressed his gratitude for the support that Kentucky officials have extended to Japanese companies.  Consul-General Kinfuchi looks forward to working with Kentucky officials to continue the excellent Japan-KY relationship.
Gov. Beshear spoke of how Japanese companies continued to operate in Kentucky, even during the recession.  Their support helped Kentucky’s economy to survive those difficult times and Kentucky’s economy continues to benefit from Japanese company operations.  Gov. Beshear formally welcomed Consul-General Kinefuchi and will continue to make efforts to strengthen the partnership.
