経団連訪米ミッションのテネシー州来訪(6月30日)

6月30日(火)、経団連訪米ミッションBグループ(団長:岩沙経団連審議員会議長、以下41名)は、テネシー州ナッシュビル市を訪問し、ハズラ州知事及びボイド経済開発長官と意見交換を行いました。訪問団は州議事堂を訪問し、これまでの日・テネシー州の緊密な経済関係や、今後の若年層の双方向交流、2020年東京オリンピック開催を通じた経済・文化・スポーツ等様々な分野での関係強化等について意見交換を行いました。
また、夕方には「カントリーミュージックの殿堂」にて、ディーン・ナッシュビル市長、ボイド・経済開発長官、シュルツ・ナッシュビル商工会会頭兼日米協会理事長等が出席し、テネシー日米協会主催の歓迎レセプションが開かれ、テネシー州各界の要人、邦人企業代表等との間で有意義な交流が図られました。このように経団連ミッションの訪問は、テネシーの人々のサザンホスピタリティを満喫して頂ける機会となりました。
A 41 member delegation of the Japanese Business Federation(Keidanren) led by Mr. Iwasa, chairman of the board of councilors visited Nashville, Tennessee on June 30th. The Group B delegation, one of the three sent from Keidanren, met with Governor Haslam and Commissioner Boyd of the Tennessee Department of Economic Development at the State Capitol. During the meeting, delegation members exchanged opinions with the two leaders about the close economic relationship between Japan and Tennessee. Topics also included were the importance of youth exchange programs and other cultural and sports exchanges, as well as opportunities that will be created by Tokyo’s hosting of the 2020 Olympic Games.
The Japan-American Society of Tennessee hosted a welcome reception that evening at the famous Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Local leaders such as Nashville Mayor Dean, Commissioner Boyd and Mr. Ralph Shultz, President of Chamber of Commerce and Board in Nashville and Board Chairman of JAST, welcomed the delegation on behalf of Tennessee. Delegation members enjoyed the southern hospitality while exchanging and deepening their friendships with local community leaders and representatives of Japanese companies.
