Conferment Ceremony in celebration of Colonel Douglas Charles DeLaMater (Ret.)

On September 1st, 2017, the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville held a Conferment Ceremony and a reception to congratulate Colonel Douglas Charles DeLaMater (Ret.) for his receipt of Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon. His friends and relatives, fellow veteran Air Force officers, and many others attended.
Consul-General Kinefuchi expressed his appreciation for the Colonel’s contributions in his remarks, after which he formally conferred the Order. Colonel DeLaMater expressed his gratitude for the honor recalled with fondness many interesting episodes during his tenure at Yokota Air Base in Japan. Mr. Suzuki, Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Japan in the US, delivered congratulatory messages from officers in Japan Air Self-Defense Force who worked with Colonel DeLaMater. Dr. James Auer, Director of US-Japan Center, proposed a toast.
This ceremony and reception reaffirmed the strong bond of Japan-US security cooperation in this region.
