Consul-General Kobayashi visited TNECD Commissioner Rolfe (May 23rd)

On May 23rd, Consul-General Kobayashi paid a courtesy visit to Commissioner Bob Rolfe, of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD).  This first formal meeting between the two leaders since Consul-General Kobayashi’s arrival in Nashville focused on the longstanding partnership between Japan and Tennessee.  Among the subjects highlighted were the 190 Japanese companies operating in Tennessee, the connection with U.S. Ambassador to Japan Bill Hagerty, and the close collaborative ties between TNECD and the Consulate-General of Japan.  Both Consul-General Kobayashi and Commissioner Rolfe expressed their commitment to build upon this historical relationship and further strengthen the Japan-Tennessee Friendship.

In Tennessee, about 190 Japanese companies hire over 50,000 Tennesseans.
