Consul-General Kobayashi visited Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant on September 25th. During their meeting, Consul-General Kobayashi asked Governor Bryant for his continued cooperation in order to further enhance the relationship between Japan and Mississippi. This cooperation includes support for Japanese residents and Japanese companies, as well as for cultural events. Governor Bryant welcomed Consul-General Kobayashi and said that he remains committed to doing his best for the bilateral relationship, relaying his recognition that Japan is the most important foreign nation for Mississippi because the Japanese residents are contributing to the state’s culture and education and Japanese companies are good corporate citizens. On this occasion, they also exchanged their views on trade issues and potential repercussions upon the agricultural and automotive sectors in Mississippi.
