Consul-General Kobayashi visited Governor Bevin on October 1st

 Consul-General Kobayashi visited Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin on October 1st to discuss current economic ties and the friendship between Japan and Kentucky. He was accompanied by Mr. Issei Hatakeyama, President of JETRO New York. During their meeting, Consul-General Kobayashi asked Governor Bevin for his continued cooperation to further enhance Japan-Kentucky relations, including support for Japanese residents, Japanese companies, and cultural events. Governor Bevin welcomed Consul-General Kobayashi and said that he remains committed to doing his best for the bilateral relationship, expressing his recognition that Japanese companies play an important role among foreign investors in Kentucky. On this occasion, they also exchanged their views on trade issues, workforce development, and other matters.
 
There are currently about 190 Japanese companies actively contributing to the Kentucky economy. We hope to continue this strong partnership.
