On September 7 and 8, the 2024 Knox Asian Festival (co-hosted by the Asian Cultural Center of Tennessee, the City of Knoxville, Knox County, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville) was held at the World's Fair Park in Knoxville, Tennessee. On September 7, the Japanese taiko drum group Matsuri-za and the Iga Ninja Special Forces Ashura from Mie Prefecture performed at the Tennessee Amphitheater in World’s Fair Park. September 8 began with a Country Parade around the World's Fair Park with participants dressed in ethnic costumes from the 12 participating countries and regions. The parade was filled with colorful cultural and entertainment events from Asian countries and regions, including Japan, and attracted a large number of people. The Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville's tent featured a sake lecture and demonstration, Japanese fan decorations, a samurai photo stand, and an introduction to the JET Program. We hope that this event will contribute to the friendship and goodwill between Japan and Tennessee, and by extension, between the United States and Japan. We look forward to seeing you all again next year at the Knox Asian Festival.
