On Saturday, April 13, 2024, the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival was held at Public Square Park in downtown Nashville. The Cherry Blossom Festival began with a "Cherry Blossom Walk" where Nashville residents strolled through the city. Acting Consul-General Mitsumoto participated in the walk and delivered remarks at the opening ceremony with Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell. The Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival was filled with a colorful array of Japanese-related culture and entertainment. The Consulate introduced Japanese culture to the public through a Yukata (Japanese summer kimono) dress-up corner and information table. Presenters led various workshops related to Japan such as kanji, manga, and tea ceremony. The Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville hopes that this event will contribute to the friendship and goodwill between Nashville and Japan, as well as between the U.S. and Japan. We look forward to seeing you again next year at the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival.
