On April 4, Consul-General Watanabe visited DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee, Inc., in Maryville. Headquartered in Kariya, Aichi prefecture, Japan, DENSO is a leading mobility supplier developing advanced technology and components for nearly every vehicle make and model on the road today. During his visit, Consul-General Watanabe enjoyed learning more about the company and toured its Maryville facility, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary. The Maryville location is the company’s largest manufacturing facility in the United States, employing nearly 5,000 associates. Additionally, the company is deeply rooted in the community, actively contributing to various local initiatives, including supporting local schools and non-profit organizations, manufacturing face shields for healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing donations for disaster relief, contributing to the East Tennessee Japanese Supplementary School, and more.
