Reception to celebrate His Majesty the Emperor’s Birthday hosted by Consul-General Watanabe

On March 7, Consul-General Watanabe hosted the reception to celebrate His Majesty the Emperor's Birthday in Franklin, Tennessee. The reception was attended by Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell and representatives from the five states of the Consulate’s jurisdiction: Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The ceremony began with a performance of the national anthems of Japan and the United States by Choir SAKURA, remarks by Consul-General Watanabe, followed by remarks from Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell who spoke about the strong ties between Tennessee and Japan. A toast was given to the further development of U.S.-Japan relations by Donna Fraiche, Honorary Consul of Japan at New Orleans. Products and services of Japanese companies were displayed in the reception hall.
