Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival Appreciation Reception
2025/5/30

On Friday, May 23, Consul-General Watanabe hosted a reception to celebrate the 2025 Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival at the Consulate-General's official residence in Nashville. In his opening remarks, Consul-General Watanabe expressed gratitude to all those involved for successfully hosting the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival and hoped that all parties would work more closely together to ensure the success of next year's festival. The reception was attended by approximately 30 people, including Senator Bill Hagerty, Mayor Freddie O'Connell of Nashville, and representatives from the political, business, and community sectors, as well as individuals involved in the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival.
The Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival began in 2009 following the relocation of the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville from New Orleans in 2008. What started as a small-scale event has grown into one of the largest events in Nashville. The festival was held on April 12 this year, which attracted 55,000 visitors. Next year's festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026. We look forward to seeing you there.
