Visit to South Doyle Middle School, Knoxville, Tennessee
2025/9/19

On Monday, September 8, the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville, together with the Asian Culture Center of Tennessee, which organizes the Knox Asian Festival, visited South Doyle Middle School in Knoxville, Tennessee, to introduce Japanese culture to seventh and eighth grade students. South Doyle Middle School offers classes in Japanese language and culture taught by Ms. Jennifer Sauer, a former JET Program participant. During this visit, all students practiced writing kanji characters and writing Japanese names. The students were excited to experience calligraphy using brushes for the first time and to write in kanji, making it a fulfilling and enjoyable school visit.
