On February 10, the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville hosted an event in Nashville, Tennessee, to highlight the active role of Japanese companies in collaborating with the Tennessee state government, local municipalities, universities, and U.S. companies to address social challenges and drive innovation in advanced fields.

The event showcased five leading Japanese companies and their cutting-edge initiatives, including NTT Data’s development of a disaster management platform using real-time data and generative AI, and DENSO’s development of an AI-based traffic safety and intersection analysis system, both implemented in collaboration with the University of Tennessee System and supported by state government grants.

Through this initiative, we highlighted that the economic relationship between Japanese companies and Tennessee is steadily evolving beyond direct investment, forming a strategic partnership that jointly addresses social challenges and fosters innovation and growth in emerging sectors.
