Consul-General Watanabe Attends Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of Nissha Medical Technologies’ Engineering Center of Excellence

On April 17, Consul-General Watanabe attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the “Nashville Innovation Center of Excellence,” a new engineering hub established by Nissha Medical Technologies— the core of the medical technology business within the Nissha Group, which is headquartered in Kyoto—at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
The company plans to collaborate through capital and business partnerships with a Vanderbilt University–originated medical device startup to develop medical technologies, including endoscopes.
The ceremony was attended by company representatives, Deputy Governor and Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, and the Chancellor of Vanderbilt University, among others, who celebrated both the new investment by a Japanese company and the advancement of industry–academia collaboration.
