On Wednesday, October 22, the Cultural Section of the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville visited Liberty Creek High School in Gallatin, Tennessee, and introduced Japanese culture to the newly established Japan Club. Liberty Creek High School is one of the Hendersonville area schools participating in the Tsuru City-Hendersonville exchange program. Some students, including members of the Japan Club, participated in the sister city exchange program in the summer of 2025 and visited Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture. During this visit, in addition to a brief Japanese language lesson, students also tried on yukata. All the students were thrilled to experience Japanese culture firsthand, wearing yukata complete with zori sandals or geta clogs.
