Consul-General Watanabe attended the 46th Annual Joint Meeting of the Japan-U.S. Southeast & Southeast U.S./Japan Associations

On October 27-29, Consul-General Watanabe attended, as a guest of honor, the 46th Annual Joint Meeting of the Japan-U.S. Southeast (Japan-USSE) & Southeast U.S./Japan (SEUS-Japan) Associations held in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The conference was attended by many dignitaries from Japan and the U.S. Southeast region, including from our covered states, Commissioner McWhorter of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and Executive Director Cork of the Mississippi Development Authority.
In his closing remarks, Consul-General Watanabe thanked all those involved for their efforts to strengthen the Japan-U.S. Southeast economic relationship during the half century since the conference was first established. He also expressed his hope that the cooperation and collaboration between Japan and the Southeastern U.S. will deepen the economic relationship between the two countries in the future.
Japan-USSE Association is an organization that promotes mutual exchange between Japan and the seven southeastern states, including Tennessee and Mississippi. The Joint Conference with SEUS-Japan Association is held annually at alternating sites in the U.S. and Japan.
