40th Anniversary Ceremony of Toyota Kentucky Plant

On March 23, Consul-General Watanabe attended the 40th anniversary ceremony of Toyota’s Kentucky plant in Georgetown, Kentucky. The ceremony was attended by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, as well as state and local economic stakeholders, Toyota’s executives, and representatives of partner companies.
During the ceremony, Governor Beshear delivered remarks praising the plant’s significant contributions to Kentucky over the past 40 years. In addition, Toyota's executives announced an additional $800 million investment for the construction of a second EV production line, as well as a $4.4 million donation to support career development and STEM education in local schools.
At the venue, a Highlander— the first Toyota EV to be produced in North America—was on display, attracting strong interest from attendees.
