On January 22, Deputy Consul-General Matsutaro Yamasaki attended the opening reception for the Japan Foundation traveling exhibition “Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan” held at the Todd Art Gallery on Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In his opening remarks, Deputy Consul-General Yamasaki highlighted the strong ties between MTSU and Japan and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to making this traveling exhibition possible. MTSU Provost Mark Barnes spoke about the university's deep connections with Japan, including its robust Japanese language and culture program. During the opening reception, Hiroyuki Kojima, Director of the Japan Foundation New York Office, also introduced the exhibition. “Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan” is open to the public (free admission) at the Todd Art Gallery on the MTSU campus until February 24. We encourage you to visit and experience the profound art of Japan.
