Barnes & Thornburg and Consulate General of Japan in Nashville Co-Hosted Seminar

On November 17, the Consulate-General of Japan together with Barnes & Thornburg LLP hosted a business seminar mainly for Japanese businesspeople within the Consulate’s five-state jurisdiction.
After opening remarks by Consul-General Matsumoto, Mr. Kendall Millard and Ms. Chihiro Maeda of Barnes & Thornburg LLP gave a presentation on "Issues and Points to Consider for Japanese Companies in the U.S. - Focusing on Noncompetition and Antitrust Laws." Then, Mr. Hiroyuki Akiyama, Executive Director of the Atlanta Office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), gave a lecture on "EV-related Investment Trends in the Southeastern U.S." Participants said that the seminar was very useful as it was directly related to their work, and the survey after the seminar also showed that many participants were highly satisfied.
At the reception after the presentations, there was a lively exchange of opinions among the co-sponsors and Japanese company representatives.
