ケンタッキー州知事主催レセプションへの出席

 
　10月17日（月）、杵渕総領事は、ベビン・ケンタッキー州知事公邸（ケンタッキー州フランクフォート）で開催されたレセプションに参加し、スピーチを行いました。
　同スピーチにおいては、日本とケンタッキー州の良好な関係に言及の上、ベビン知事の尽力に謝意を表するとともに、より大きな枠組における日米同盟の重要性とTPPの重要性を訴えました。その上で、TPPは、同州産のバーボンや自動車部品に掛けられている関税が大幅に削減されるこなど、ケンタッキー州にとっても大きな意味を持つ協定であることから、日米両国議会でのTPP承認を訴えていくべき旨述べました。
 
　Consul-General Kinefuchi participated in a reception hosted by Gov. Matt Bevin at the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion, on October 17^th.
　Consul-General Kinefuchi, highlighting the thriving relationship between Japan and Kentucky, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Gov. Bevin for his strong support in furthering relations since his inauguration.  At the same time, he reiterated the importance of the Japan-U.S. Alliance and economic partnership, in particular TPP.  By explaining the effect TPP would have on some of Kentucky’s important export products, namely big reductions in tariffs on Automotive Parts and Bourbon Whiskey, he emphasized the great impacts the agreement will have on the Commonwealth’s economy.  Consul-General Kinefuchi asked participants to encourage the legislatures of both countries to recognize TPP as soon as possible.
