Conferment Ceremony of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation Award to the Japan Society of New Orleans (November 8th, 2018)

 On November 8th, 2018, Consul-General Kobayashi attended the 90th anniversary celebration of the Japan Society of New Orleans and presented the society with the Foreign Minister's Commendation. He expressed his appreciation for the Japan Society in his remarks, touching on the society's tremendous contributions to Japan-New Orleans relations over its history. The Consul-General praised society members for continuing the passion and vision of their founders. The Japan Society founded in 1928 is one of the oldest Japan-America societies in the U.S. and has one of the longest legacies of achievement. The Consul-General expressed his appreciation to all past and current members for their work to strengthen bilateral relations through cultural and educational programming that enriches the region, and conveyed his confidence that the Japan Society will continue to play an important role in enhancing Japan-U.S. relations well into the future.
