杵渕総領事のブライアント・ミシシッピ州知事、マッカラ同州経済開発長官への着任挨拶(10月6日)

10月5日(火)、杵渕総領事はブライアント・ミシシッピ州知事及びマッカラ・同州経済開発長官を表敬し、着任の挨拶を行いました。
杵渕総領事は、ミシシッピ州政府のこれまでの日本企業、邦人への暖かい対応に感謝の意を表するとともに、ミシシッピ州にとり日本が最大の直接投資国であり、経済関係の更なる強化のためにも、人的・文化的繋がりを深めて行きたい旨述べました。
これに対し、ブライアント知事は、日米協会を中心として日・ミシシッピの交流に尽力して頂いている、若い頃の訪日機会が今日の親日感をもたらしてくれている、人的交流強化を認識している、新総領事をお迎えし、日・ミシシッピ関係発展のために益々努力したい旨述べました。
On October 5th, Consul-General Kinefuchi met the Hon. Phil Bryant, Governor of Mississippi, and Mr. Glenn McCullough, Executive Director of the Mississippi Development Authority.
Consul-General Kinefuchi thanked Gov. Bryant and Mr. McCullough for their support of Japanese companies and Japanese citizens in Mississippi. Consul-General Kinefuchi also expressed his desire to work with both leaders to deepen the connections between Japan and Mississippi. As the largest foreign investor in the state, Japan hopes to build on this friendship by expanding human and cultural connections across the state.
Governor Bryant noted the important contributions of the Japan-America Society of Mississippi(JASMIS) in bringing Mississippi and Japan closer together. The Governor also mentioned his own strong, personal affinity for Japan, having visited Japan in his youth.
Both Gov. Bryant and Consul-General Kinefuchi acknowledged the strength of the existing partnership and committed to working together in order to deepen it further.
