Consul General Fukushima Speaks at US-Japan Council Webinar
On August 27th, Consul General Fukushima gave the opening remarks at US-Japan Council's webinar "Regional Women in Leadership: Stories of Women Leaders in the South". Consul General Fukushima spoke about how she developed her diplomatic career while raising children, the Japanese government’s measures to further the empowerment of women, her experiences being posted in the US for 3 times and influences from working in US, her work experiences in establishing the UN Women Japan Liaison Office as its funding director, how COVID-19 affects gender equality, and what important messages are needed to achieve gender equality. At the end of webinar, CG Fukushima answered various questions from viewers. There were about 310 audience at the webinar.
