Consul General Fukushima's appearance at “Women’s History Month” Webinar hosted by Sister Cities of Nashville

On March 26th, Consul-General Fukushima spoke at a webinar to commemorate Women’s History Month, “Women in Government with the Consul-General of Japan in Nashville”, hosted by Sister Cities of Nashville. Consul-General Fukushima shared various topics with moderator Mrs. Mina Johnson, Vice-President of Sister Cities of Nashville. Their discussion included Consul-General Fukushima’s childhood experience which inspired her to be interested in foreign countries, how she developed her career at the Foreign Ministry of Japan while at the same time raising two daughters, her role and work as Consul-General of Japan in Nashville, information on the area of jurisdiction of the Consulate, her experiences as the first Director of the UN Women Japan Liaison Office from 2015-2017, advice on how to improve awareness of gender equality, how women in Japan are participating in politics, and so on. At the end of the webinar, Consul-General Fukushima answered questions posed by about 40 participants of the event.
