On Monday, September 12, the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville participated in the Kamakura-Nashville 8th Anniversary Celebration Event hosted by Sister Cities of Nashville. Mayor Matsuo and other members of the City of Kamakura office participated in the event online. About 40 people including Vice Mayor Jim Schulman, former Mayor David Briley, former Mayor Bill Purcell, and former Mayor Carl Dean (online), members from Sister Cities of Nashville and the Japan-America Society of Tennessee participated in the event. Mayor Jim Cooper also sent a video message. Mayor Matsuo, former Mayor Carl Dean, and Consul-General Matsumoto expressed congratulations on the 8th anniversary of the signing of the Partner City Agreement between the two cities and expressed hope for the further development of the exchanges between the two cities.
