2023 Japanese Business Roundtable

On February 28, Consul-General Matsumoto attended the 2023 Japanese Business Roundtable held at the University of Tennessee's Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy in Knoxville, Tennessee. Consul-General Matsumoto delivered opening remarks, along with Gretchen Neisler, Vice Provost for International Affairs at the University of Tennessee, and others. The roundtable was attended by approximately 70 participants, mostly from Japanese companies operating in Tennessee, and featured presentations from professors conducting Japan-related research or collaborating with Japanese companies, as well as breakout sessions on individual issues such as supply chain issues.
Mr. Allen Borden, Deputy Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic Development, gave a keynote speech detailing the contributions of Japanese companies to the state of Tennessee.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville will continue to participate in various events and activities to support Japanese companies in its area of jurisdiction.
