Visit to Clarksville Mayor Pitts and the 2nd AAPI Heritage Month Celebration

On May 19th, Consul-General Matsumoto paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Joe Pitts of Clarksville, Tennessee, and met with him and other city officials. He and Mayor Pitts also attended the Asian-American & Pacific Islander Celebration held that evening.
During the meeting with the mayor and city officials, topics discussed included the city's economic development efforts, its ties with the U.S. Army base at Fort Campbell, and the city's cultural diversity and connections with other countries. The Asian-American & Pacific Islander Celebration also featured a wonderful display of booths and performances by event participants. Mayor Pitts and the Consul-General gave remarks at the ceremony.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville will continue to participate in cultural and other community events. Please let us know of any upcoming events.
