Consul-General Matsumoto Visits Toyota Mississippi Experience Center and TMMMS

On March 24th, Consul-General Matsumoto visited the Toyota Mississippi Experience Center and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi (TMMMS) in Blue Springs, Mississippi.
The Toyota Mississippi Experience Center opened in June 2022, built in partnership with the Mississippi Development Authority. The center features exhibits and kiosks where visitors can learn about Toyota's history and the manufacturing process, through simulators and collaborative robots. The facility was designed to engage and educate people of all ages, especially junior high and high school students. Visitors will experience how Toyota's manufacturing process, which employs clean and advanced technologies, produces some of the best-selling vehicles.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi (TMMMS) began operations in November 2011 and now produces 170,000 vehicles annually at its 2 million sq ft facility. Since opening, TMMMS has emphasized human resource development and training for young people in the region. In collaboration with the local business community and educational institutions, efforts have included plant tours, job fairs, and career guidance for high school students. TMMMS also supported establishment of the Center for Manufacturing Excellence at the University of Mississippi, to help train future leaders in modern manufacturing.
