On May 9, Consul-General Matsumoto spoke at a regular luncheon of the Economic Club of Nashville (ECON). Approximately 60 members of the local business community attended the luncheon. Mr. Michael Anastasi, Editor of the Tennessean and VP of ECON, opened the luncheon with welcome remarks. Consul-General Matsumoto followed with a presentation on the history and initiatives of the Consulate-General and Japan's economic diplomacy, including the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF). A question-and-answer session after the lecture allowed participants to ask a variety of questions, including about social issues in Japan.
