On October 24, Consul-General Watanabe attended the opening event of the Japanese exhibit “Journey to Japan: Myths to Manga” at the Frist Art Museum in Nashville, TN. The exhibit, on loan from the Young V&A (formerly the Victoria and Albert Children's Museum) in East London, England, shows how imagination, playfulness, and environment have inspired Japanese folklore, design, and technology over the centuries. After the viewing, Consul-General Watanabe addressed the opening event, which featured a lecture by Dr. Mary Redfern, Curator of Japan for the Young V&A Asia Division.
