KOBELCO ALUMINUM PRODUCTS & EXTRUSIONS, INC. RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

On September 18, 2019, Kobelco hosted a grand opening ceremony of its plant in Bowling Green and a $42 million investment in increased production capacity.

Consul-General Hiroyuki Kobayashi joined company executives, as well as local and state officials, in the ribbon cutting. Other participating leaders included Chamber Chairman Steve Davis, Judge Executive Mike Buchanon, Mayor Bruce Wilkerson, Kobe Steel Executive Officer Yukimasa Miyashita, and Kobelco President Hitoshi Arimura. Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products, another member of the Kobe Steel Group, employs 785 people at another Bowling Green facility.

Nearly 200 Japanese companies operate in Kentucky, employing almost 48,000 Kentuckians.
