On Saturday, September 21st, Consul-General Hiroyuki Kobayashi presented a Consul-General’s Commendation to Ms. Yoko Hatakeyama on the occasion of the Japan Festival in Lexington. The Consul-General recognized and thanked Ms. Hatakeyama, who is the Senior Lecturer of Japanese at Murray State University, for her work as a language professor, her advocacy for international student exchanges with Japan and her support of the Consulate-General’s cultural initiatives in southwestern Kentucky for many years. Ms. Hatakeyama thanked the Consul General and accepted the award while praising the Consulate, Murray State University, and her current and former students.
