On Saturday, October 12th, Consul-General Hiroyuki Kobayashi presented a Consul-General’s Commendation to Ms. Megan DeVille on the occasion of the New Orleans Japan Fest. The Consul-General thanked her for her years of service and for continuing the JET Program’s mission of fostering grassroots exchange with Japan. In her acceptance remarks, Ms. DeVille thanked the Consul-General and noted that the award demonstrated how years of steady grassroots promotion can have an outsized impact on the greater community. She praised the JET Program and encouraged fellow alumni as well as “friends of JET” to engage with her small but active alumni chapter.
