On Saturday, January 18th, Consul-General Kayoko Fukushima presented the Foreign Minister’s Commendation to Ms. Mieko Kikuchi at the 2020 New Year Party hosted by the Japan America Society of Mississippi. The Consul-General expressed appreciation to Ms. Kikuchi for her contributions to grassroots exchanges between Japan and Mississippi over the course of many years. In her acceptance remarks, Ms. Kikuchi thanked the Consul-General while expressing her appreciation of those who cooperated with her on activities related to the exchanges. Mr. Glenn McCullough, Executive Director of the Mississippi Development Authority, delivered remarks stressing the strategic importance of the relationship between Mississippi and Japan for Mississippi.
