On September 12th, 2020, Consul-General Kayoko Fukushima presented a Consul-General’s Commendation to Dr. Yuki Matsuda, Ph.D., Professor of Japanese, Department of World Languages and Literature, University of Memphis. The Consul General recognized Dr. Matsuda for her tireless efforts to promote the study of the Japanese language for long period of time as well as her years of effort to promote grassroots exchanges between Japan and Tennessee. Professor Matsuda thanked the Consul General for the honor and reaffirmed her commitment to continue promoting strong US-Japan relations through the study of language.
