On August 20th, 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced that the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation was awarded to the following individual for their contributions as described below.
Mr. J. Paul Watkins, Professor Emeritus at University of Tennessee (Tennessee, U.S.A.)
In recognition of promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S.A.
