杵渕総領事のシュルツ・ナッシュビル商工会議所会頭兼テネシー日米協会理事議長への着任挨拶(５月５日)　

Consul-General Kinefuchi visits Mr. Schulz, President of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Board Chair of Japan-America Society of Tennessee (May 5)

　５月５日（火）、杵渕総領事はラルフ・シュルツ・ナッシュビル商工会議所会頭兼テネシー日米協会理事議長を訪問し、着任の挨拶を行いました。

　杵渕総領事は、当地に進出している日本企業への支援に対し感謝するとともに、日米間のビジネスの動向について、今後とも緊密に連絡を取り合っていきたい、また、桜祭り等、当地における日米文化交流増進への日米協会の貢献に対し敬意を表し、今後も連携して取り組んでいきたい旨述べました。
　シュルツ会頭からは、日本はテネシー州における外国投資国の中で最大であり、極めて大きな存在である、また、我々は、ナッシュビルで桜祭りを行っていることを誇りとしており、更に発展させていきたい、総領事館の活動に対して、惜しみない協力をする用意がある旨述べました。

CG Kinefuchi expressed his appreciation for the strong support by the Chamber of Commerce to the Japanese businesses in Tennessee, and for the contribution of JAST to the Japan-US cultural exchanges, including its hosting the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival, conveying his firm intention to work closely with the Chamber. “I applaud the contributions made by the Chamber and JAST to the development of good relationship with Japan. I look forward to promoting further cooperation with you and your organizations during my tenure.”
President Schultz welcomed the large Japanese presence in Tennessee. “Japan is the biggest foreign investor and many Japan-related companies are in TN. Tennesseans take great pride in hosting the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival. We hope to continue to develop our good relationship and to spare no effort in helping you in any way we can.”
