４月１０日（木）、加藤総領事はテネシー州ルイスバーグ市にて開催されたMeiwa Industry North America, Inc (盟和産業北米子会社)の開業記念式に出席しました。当日は、フィリップ州労働庁長官他州政府関係者、地元選出州議会議員、地元市長、日系企業関係者等、日米関係者１００名以上が同地に集い、同社の新たな門出を祝いました。
式典では、ハズラム州知事から、日本はテネシー州にとって最も特別な国であり、盟和産業がこの地に進出したことによってさらにその関係は深まることとなった。当地への進出を心より歓迎する旨、アレクサンダー州経済開発庁首席補佐官より祝辞の代読が行なわれました。
また、加藤総領事は、これまでの州政府や地元からの多大な支援に対し感謝するとともに、春と共に始まる今後の同社の船出に向けて祝辞を述べました。
式典後、同社より当地高校に対し寄付が行なわれ、地元からの感謝とともに日米友好の絆が深まることとなりました。

On April 10, Consul-General Kato attended the grand opening ceremony of Meiwa Industry North America's new plant in Lewisburg, TN. The plant is Meiwa Industry's first North American facility.
Dignitaries attending the grand opening included Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Commissioner Burns Phillips, Marshall County Mayor Joe B. Liggett, and executives from several Japanese and American companies. In a statement read by TNECD Chief of Staff Will Alexander, Governor Haslam told the attending guests that the Japan-Tennessee relationship is very special to the state and that the opening of Meiwa Industry further strengthens that bond. 

In his remarks, Consul-General Kato expressed gratitude for the efforts made by state and local governments and the local community to support Meiwa Industry. He congratulated  Meiwa Industry, noting that a beautiful spring day was a wonderful time to launch the new facility.
To celebrate joining the Lewisburg community, Meiwa Industry made a donation to a local marching band.
