第8回テネシー地域日本語弁論大会の開催(4月4日)

4月4日(土)、当館はMiddle Tennessee State University (MTSU)、テネシー日米協会、Tennessee Foreign Language Instituteとの共催で、テネシー州マルフリーズボロ市にあるMTSUにおいて第8回テネシー日本語弁論大会を開催しました。テネシー州とケンタッキー州の大学生36名が3部門に分かれ、日頃の学習の成果を競い合いました。参加した大学は下記の通りです。 当館より細谷和則総領事代理が審査員を務めると共に開会式で挨拶をし、参加する学生に日本語と日本文化や社会について引き続き勉強に励み、日本語能力を活かして日米友好の架け橋となることを期待する旨のエールを送りました。
The Consulate-General of Japan, Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), the Japan-America Society of Tennessee, and the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute co-organized the 8th annual Tennessee Area Japanese Speech Contest (TAJSC) on Saturday, April 4 at MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. As many as 36 students from nine universities in Tennessee and Kentucky competed and showed their command of Japanese language at three different levels. The universities that particiated in the contest are listed below.
Acting Consul-General Kazunori Hosoya served as a judge and made opening remarks. He encouraged the students to continue studying Japanese language and Japanese culture and society, and to become a bridge between Japan and the United States in the future.
