テネシー日米協会主催年次総会の開催(6月26日)
Japan-America Society of Tennessee hosts their Annual Meeting (June 26)
6月26日(金)、テネシー日米協会(Japan-America Society of Tennessee, JAST)はナッシュビル市内で年次総会を開催し、杵渕正巳総領事をはじめ、カール・ディーン・ナッシュビル市長やラルフ・シュルツ日米協会理事長(ナッシュビル商工会議所会頭)、日本企業関係者など80名ほどが集まり、親交を深めました。 杵渕総領事は基調講演を行い、日本は戦後70年間平和主義、民主主義国家としての道を歩み、現在の日米関係は歴史上最も強固なものとなっていること、日テネシー関係も進展しており、約180社の日本企業が進出して約48,000人の雇用を生み出していることを説明し、テネシー日米協会と協力して日テネシー関係の更なる発展に尽力していきたいとの抱負を述べました。 テネシー日米協会は、日本とテネシーとの間の友好と相互理解を深めるために様々な活動をしています。詳しくはこちらまで。
The Japan-America Society of Tennessee (JAST) hosted their 2015 Annual Meeting on June 26 in Nashville, TN. As many as 80 guests including Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, JAST Board Chair Ralph Shulz (President & CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce) and representatives from Japanese companies attended the event and enjoyed networking following the meeting. Consul-General Masami Kinefuchi gave the key-note speech, in which he explained that Japan has become a trully democratic country, committed to peace in the 70 years since WWII, and that Japan and the US have built a partnership, stronger than ever in their history. He went on to speak about the Japan-Tennessee relationship, whereby approximately 180 Japanese companies operating and creating about 48,000 jobs in Tennessee. This relationship is one of the best amongst the relationships with all states in the US. He then expressed his determination to work hand in hand with JAST to further enhance this wonderful relationship.
